FILM PRODUCTION/ -2005-2006 2006 has started out as a busy year at the Artist Group for Film Production! There were numerous projects but I'll just touch on the highlights. Kennebec Valley Community College Broadcast Campaign We are proud to have produced a series of new broadcast ads for Kennebec Valley Community College. The spots were shot on S-16mm film and HD video. Real life success stories from actual students demonstrate the benefits of a KVCC education. New TV Pilot 6/2005 I wrote a pilot for Television that we produced last week. We are pitching it to VH-1 and several other networks.The cast was great and included Tony Smith, John Kumnick and Janice Pendarvis ( bandmates and friends ). Actor/ musician Barney Martin played a role along with our Road Manager Big Dave. NBC, PASSIONS Film Shoot 2/2005 NBC contracted the AG to shoot winter scenes for the popular show Passions. From dangling over cliffs at Fort William to three camera POV driving shots for blue screen, we spent three days in production. The weather was cold and snowy, and running camera in a van with no side doors or back door was challenging..but yielded great shots. Mark Cody, Sean Glen and Kristie Le Blanc completed the prod team. Northern Outdoors TV Spot-Boston Market We produced a action-adventure broadcast spot for Northern Outdoors. The spot is being broadcast in Boston. London England, Int Samento Conference I spent ten days in London filming the international conference on Samento in the treatment of Lyme Disease. Amazing conference..shot on DV..images looks great. The project is being designed and mastered in our studio to DVD. Polar Adventurer Did some video production and aerial photography ( video ) for ConocoPhillips covering the launch of their new tanker in Portland Maine. It was amazing.. the technology designing and building a ship of this size. Cianbro did some of the work..incredible company. The aerial work was a little tricky as fog came in and we skirted the waves to and from the site. Edited a press reel of highlights in our studio. Past ProjectsAs you know, we produced a video for Colby College and we have recently completed a promotional film for Kennebec Valley Technical College. The Skowhegan Savings Bank spot was for internet banking and should make even the most serious folks smile. Shot on our S-16mm camera..looks great. Maine Fall Tourism Campaign. Maine Department of Tourism & Schwarlick Advertising used two of our shots from the Forgotten Maine for the opening and closing scenes of the Maine Fall Tourism Campaign. It was great to be part of their campaign. Maine Tourism Demo We produced 2 TV Spots on S-16mm Film for PBK Advertising supporting their presentation to Maine Tourism.The AG provided cinematography and musical composition .The spots really showcase Maine's scenic beauty and activities from Portland's Nightlife to the coast. ( Quicktime Movie at the top of the page ) Boothby & Bartlet Insurance - Play Streaming Video Clip We produced two TV Spots on S-16mm Film for Boothby & Bartlett Insurance . American Lung Association of Maine - Play Streaming Video Clip We produced a TV Spot on S-16mm Film for The American Lung Association of Maine centered around their annual Bike-Trek. Approx. 155-2000 bike riders make a 180 mile 3 day trek from the western mountains to the coast. One of our locations included filming in Camden on Mount Batty at Dawn overlooking the ocean. Lots of coffee but it was worth it!  The Forgotten Maine Film We directed and filmed a 60 minute Documentary for The EYE Foundation. The film was chosen as the Premiere film of the Maine International Film Festival. The Forgotten Maine was filmed entirely in Super-16mm and features some stunningly beautiful cinematography of Maine. The purpose of the film was to chronicle and bring to life the stories of the Maine families and communities who are feeling the effects of change as a steady wave of Mega-stores and Corporate Businesses alters their lives and communities forever. The film's hope is that it will get people thinking about the real worth of these small family businesses to the community as a whole....and perhaps even to our ultimate definition as a society. In the words of FM dairy farmer John Ingerham " That's what America was built on..small business and small farms".   The families that we spent time with touched us with their willingness to share their stories and their lives..Hopefully the film will carry their message and get people thinking about the future. The E.Y.E Foundation will be showing the film throughout the state this year. Skowhegan Savings Bank We also produced several TV Spots on S-16mm Film for Skowhegan Savings . It was a great project. We utilized employes as well as several actors from the Maine Talent Source. Everyone did a great job and helped us capture the character and spirit of this Central Maine Institution.   Portrait Of A Country Singer We are starting production in March on Portrait Of A Country Singer. It is a film about the life of the late, Country Singer Dick Curless. We are all looking forward to working with Maine PBS on this important project. The film focuses on Dick's life & times and his musical legacy. It provides an insight into a time in America when the music business was still brand new....and artists such as Dick Curless could come from rurality and reach the hearts and ears of the world. WEB SITES: We redesigned and built several new Web Sites last year. We always try to stay abreast of the latest internet developments so that our sites are dynamic both in design and technological capabilities. Streaming video, VRML, Shockwave audio, etc. are being featured on several of our sites. Incredibly informational site with javamenus and integration with filemaker.   DVD & NEW MEDIA We produced a DVD Interactive for Nutramedix. DVD technology has come of age. We produced a DVD of a 3.5 hour conference..shot in England. The quality is astounding. Check out our New Media Page for more examples.
